A lovely canal cruise in an open boat

Lovely Cruises is Amsterdam’s newest small boat tour operator. Their open boats are state of the art, fully sustainable, very comfortable and offer a more intimate experience than the big canal boats in the city. With a captain that knows the way around the city, from the main rivers to the narrow canals, you'll see the most beautiful parts of the city, and a local guide will tell you interesting stories about the city's history and the many sights you'll see.

While the Lovely Cruises Open Boat will of course take you along the main canals of the city as well, the tours also visit the smaller and older canals of the city. So you will find yourself on the Prinsengracht, Herengracht and the Keizersgracht as well as some of the narrower canals that can be found in the Red Light District and Jordaan neighbourhood, where regular canal boats can't even reach.

Other sights you'll see along the way include the Anne Frank House and the Westerkerk right next to it. And the Skinny Bridge over the Amstel river, which has a reputation for romance. The wide Amstel river is lined with beautiful buildings, and our boats offer a wide view of this beautiful scenery.

Cosy cruising with drinks

Lovely Cruises brand-new boats have a bar on board, and with drinks included you are sure to have a cruise as comfortable as possible. Enjoy a cold beer, a glass of wine or a refreshing soft drink, as these are included in your ticket. Fancy a mixed drink or cocktail? These are available for purchase on the boat. Sit back in the comfortable seats while you enjoy your drink and the view. The trip takes approximately an hour, so enough time to sit back, have a chat with your friends, enjoy the stories the guide has to tell, and admire the beauty of Amsterdam's canals with ease.

While many people probably think that sailing on an open boat in the Netherlands is a bad idea because of the weather, Lovely Cruises is more than prepared. Most days are actually dry or mostly dry, and if not we got you covered, literally. For cold or windy days we have blankets, and for light rain we have plenty of umbrella's. And if needed, all boats also have a tarp roof, that keeps you dry and warm but still allows you to look outside.
