Pancake Boat in Amsterdam

Step on board the Pancake boat and discover the best way to try traditional Dutch Pancakes. This 75-minute cruise will take you on the IJ River, which splits the city, with the Amsterdam North district to the north of the river and the city centre and other districts to the south of the river.

During the cruise, you’ll have access to an all-you-can-eat buffet of Dutch pancakes, including mouth-watering toppings like Dutch cheese, syrup, bacon, fruit, chocolate, marmalade and much, much more. So make sure you’re hungry when you get on board!

Sights to see

During the pancake boat tour through Amsterdam you will sail on the IJ River. On the north shore you can see the modern side of Amsterdam with the A’DAM Tower, the EYE Film Museum and the THIS IS HOLLAND attraction.

While the southern shore of the river includes Amsterdam's Central Station and access to the canals. In summer you’ll most likely also see the huge cruise ships that dock in the harbour or at the Passenger Terminal. It’s always a sight to behold. Kids won’t have a chance to get bored during the cruise either, at the back of the boat you’ll find an enormous ball pit where they can play throughout the cruise.

Best pancakes in town

Eating traditional Dutch pancakes is something you can't miss out on when you visit the Netherlands. The pancakes are usually larger and much thinner than their American counterparts yet a little thicker than crepes.

The best way to eat them is to load them up with toppings and that’s exactly what you get a chance of doing during this pancake cruise. And whether you use cutlery or not is completely up to you. Get ready to try some of the best pancakes in the city!

Pancake cruise corona measures

The Pancake cruise has taken several measures to continue to provide a save, fun and tasty cruise for all. These measures include:

  • Booking online is mandatory.
  • Limited number of guests according to government guidelines.
  • Max two people from different households at one table.
  • Next to every table will be an empty table to maintain the 1,5 meter distance.
  • Boarding and deboarding will go in order, guided by the crew.
  • Guests with Covid-19 related symptoms will not be given access to the boat. Everyone will be asked about their health before boarding.
  • All crew with Covid-19 related symptoms will be send home at the start of the day, thus avoiding all contact with guests.
  • All guests are asked to use disinfectant gel pre-boarding. More disinfectant gel is available on board to use as needed.
  • Our focus is on hygiene and the boat will be cleaned more frequently.
  • We welcome all guests but will not be shaking hands.
  • Each table will be invited to the buffet separately in order to maintain social distancing.
  • The ball pit will be closed, instead colouring pictures and pencils will be provided for children.
  • Toppings and cutlery will be placed on the table instead of at the buffet.
  • We will not be accepting cash payments.
  • Cruises will take 60 minutes instead of the regular 75.
