This differs greatly throughout the year, in December the sun will set early around 16:30, while in June the sun doesn’t set until 22:30. If you want to experience the golden hours on a boat, make sure to check what time the sun sets before choosing the time of your boat tour.
What is the difference between a day and evening cruise?
The time of day is really the only difference. The audio guide is the same and so is the departure point. Except for special events such as the Amsterdam Light Festival, than there are more differences.
Are evening canal cruises cold?
While it does cool down at night in Amsterdam, and being on the water is a little colder than on land, our canal cruises have windows that close and heating, so we make sure you're comfortable.
What happens during bad weather?
Our canal cruises have roofs and windows that close, and are completely weather proof. They are heated to comfortable temperatures, so you don't have to worry about getting cold. Our docks are in the open air, but if it rains we will be happy to help you board quickly.
