The Garden is a huge property with mesmerizing views of the flowers, trees and plants where ever you glance your eyes, the natures finest flowers can be at display. the place is photogenic and for people who like to capture themself for the posts on insta its a must visit, the garden itself is very well organized and pathways present are pawed in a good way so that stroller and the wheel chairs can be easily accessible. the place is one who want to spend quality time with loved ones with nature, though is a bit far from the main city, but its worth the trip and is a must visit.
Our tour stopped here on the Friday before Easter so it was very busy. Our guide gave us a quick overview and off we went to enjoy the tulips (and the people watching). The grounds are beautiful and its really mind blowing to think how many tulips are planted each year.
Amazing gardens. I have visited them twice, and both times did not disappoint. The gardens are huge with thousands of flowers (not only tulips). I visited in April and in June, and both times there were still a lot of flowers. There are many cafes and restaurant around. Make sure to book in advance as it often sells out - if it is sold out, you can check external tours on Getyourguide as they might still be available. It can easily be reached by bus (there is a special bus departing from Amsterdam and Leiden). It is a bit expensive, but overall very much worth it.
Absolutely stunning gardens, if you are in Amsterdam at the time of year it’s a must visit. We only thought we’d be there half a day but in the end we spent all day there as there is so much to see!
Keukenhof Gardens a Lisse, Amsterdam, Olanda. Keukenhof Gardens in Lisse, Amsterdam, Holland. A very beautiful place full of flowers and to visit it well and calmly you need a whole day. Better to arrive early to see it calmly and book the ticket. Inside the park there are restaurants scattered along the path for those who want to eat on the spot. I recommend going in April which is the best month for the blooming of tulips, hyacinths and daffodils.
This was the most beautiful garden ! So many tulips every color and shape imaginable. We also saw beautiful orchids in a beautiful building. We were surprised how many places we saw to have food, we didn’t. The entire place was so crowded! We were staying at the Waldorf and booked private tours. Our guide drove us there, parked very close and gave us our tickets that were bought in advance by the tour company. We literally walked a few feet to the entrance. We spent all the time we wanted and she was waiting for us. This is a really great way to see this very busy garden and not have to get transportation, tickets or worry about parking which looked chaotic. She then drove us by the tulip fields awash in beautiful colors as far as the eye could see and a private tulip field and shop. It was a great.
No trip to The Netherlands would be complete without a visit to Keukenof. This was my second visit having included it two years previously in our tour of Western Europe. Last time I had been in total awe and left entranced with it's beauty, amazed at the imagination of the gardeners and inspired to go home and revolutionise my own garden We arrived this time, having taken a train from Utrecht to Schipol and then, after a few wrong turns, found the "tulip" bus which took us to the location. Tickets can be purchased online in advance with a choice of places to pick up the bus. Arriving early is always a good idea, you definitely get to see a good section of the gardens before the crowds start to build up and more to the point you don't have to queue to show your ticket and enter. Last time we visited it was early May whereas we were coming six weeks earlier this time and there was a slight concern that we would not have such a good time. I'm going to be honest and say there were quite a few flower beds not yet in bloom but as you can see from my photos there was still plenty to see. I would opt to come late April/early May if I returned a third time. On both occasions we visited mid week. As some of the negative reviews state the “ instagram” crowd is unfortunately out in force and as much as they annoy me I don’t have the answer and apparently neither does Keukenhof or any other major attraction worldwide.
Our trip to Netherlands was because my mother wanted to see tulips. When we began our planning, I went through numerous blogs & vlogs. Came across the 2022, 2023 & 2024 Bloemencorso Bollenstreek (flower parade) videos. That sealed our travel dates. We knew the route of 42 kms would be crowded with locals & visitors. So planned to see it in Haarlem on 13th. Our trip to Keukenhof was the next day, on 14th. I kept a eye on the Keukenhof official website to purchase the tickets. I was to book not only the park entrance ticket but a combi with the bus included. In addition, I requested a wheelchair & booked two tickets for the whisper boat ride. We caught the very first departure from Amsterdam RAI to Keukenhof gardens on the Qbuzz route 852 at 7:30 a.m. Arrived by 8:00 a.m. We headed straight to pick the wheelchair. I was amazed to see their inventory. The staff was helpful, polite & even offered us a blanket since it was a cold morning. Next to this room is a locker room where you can store any cabin bag size luggage you have & won't require during your stay inside the garden. These counters are outside the gate. As we entered the park, a humungous display of tulips caught our attention. It was exquisite. We made our way to the restaurant for a hot breakfast. They have vegetarian options too. Post breakfast, we started exploring the park anti-clock wise only because we had booked the Whisper boat ride & did not want to get late. We have to exchange our mobile/paper voucher for a ticket. Their counter is next to the windmill. At the entrance, we were given a map of the garden. It was super helpful. every five seconds my mother would ask me if I clicked a photo or shot a video on my right or left. I think I wouldn't have covered even 10% of the garden had I paid heed to my mother. The tulips were in different colors, different stages of the bloom & we were transported to another world. The hour long boat ride was good. There are several restaurants & good carts. Some areas are staged for SM photo posts. We saw some folks bring their art/sketch books & were busy at drawing. Some families had brought picnic baskets from home/air bnb. They had spread out a blanket. Their kids were running & playing around while the adults were chilling, eating, drinking & having fun. While many spend 4 hours or so, we spent almost 9 hours. The last bus leaves at 7:30 p.m. We made our way out around 5:30 p.m. The queue was never ending but fast moving. This is one garden that I would love to go every year. When we got back to the hotel, I had over 500 photos (includes videos) from our day out! Glad we carried our power bank.
A bucket list attraction for me and many others; however, I was taken aback by the sheer volume of people. There are plenty of quieter parts of the gardens to enjoy, and is a must visit when travelling to Amsterdam, but be prepared for what to expect. TIP: To avoid queuing, be sure to purchase a ticket well in advance.
We visited Keukenhof on our very first full day in Amsterdam. We took a tour via via Tours which included three hours here before we headed to the other sites. We specifically came to Amsterdam during tulip season which this year was March 21 to May 11, we were here on April 30. I wasn’t sure that three hours was going to be too long but it’s the perfect amount of time. We got there early at 10 AM. It opens at 8 AM. We had just under three hours to tour a very large garden and everywhere you looked. Tulips were on steroids absolutely beautiful. It is a must when you are in Amsterdam or Lisse where it is located. Very easy to get around with the map that they give you. There’s plenty of places to use restrooms places to buy food, etc. some gift shops, etc. I purchased a bag that says Keukenhof. Highly recommended coming here. If I was driving myself, I would’ve been there when they opened up at 8 AM to avoid the crowds. We got there at 10 AM with our tour which was a small tour and by 1130 the place was packed, but we were gone by 12:45 p.m. Kudos to the staff in the upkeep in the groundskeepers unbelievable. 1.6 million people visit within seven weeks to view tulips worth every penny you pay for your tour. There were plenty of places all around the gardens for restaurants, shops, bathrooms, etc., places to sit if you needed to rest. They had vendors with strawberries and whipped cream. There was an ice cream stand. Make it a must when in Amsterdam.
Amazing gardens full of beautiful flowers, including a wide variety of tulips. We went on its last weekend and the flowers that were in full sunlight had certainly seen better days, but those in shade and indoors were still in full bloom. We could easily have spent a full day in Keukenhof but we do believe it is spoiled slightly by how busy it is, with so many people there crowding around 'instagrammable' parts. The crowds, often there just to take photographs of themselves, did spoil the experience a little as it gave off a very superficial, shallow feeling. We didn't let this ruin our experience however and still had a great time!
Fabulous Tulip Gardens. Acres of designed bulb gardens, only open 8wks of year approx March & April Plenty of of places to eat & drink Guide plan quite difficult to interpret, we found best to just wander Easy, well maintained paths Interesting museum & information places Numerous “Intagramers” Dogs allowed, cycles only outside gardens Gets extremely busy Must book in advance More than adequate car park but surrounding roads chaotic. We went at opening time 8am and would recommend this, early before the huge crowds.
We visited Keukenhof a little late in the season, so the tulip displays weren’t quite at their peak, but we still had a wonderful time. There were still plenty of tulips in bloom, and the gardens are so beautifully designed that it’s hard not to be impressed no matter when you go. We really enjoyed the other fun activations in the park, like visiting Miffy’s house, climbing the windmill, and indulging in a warm stroopwafel. Keukenhof is a springtime staple in Holland for a reason. Definitely worth a visit, but expect large crowds no matter the weather.
Absolutely beautiful gardens and tulips flowers. Is a must to visit while visiting the Netherlands during spring time.
Keukenhof is a beautiful flower garden just 40 minutes from Amsterdam. It’s open only in spring, for about 8 weeks, and during this time, you can see millions of colorful flowers, especially tulips. The garden is very big and well maintained, with plenty of walking paths and nice spots to take photos. There are food stalls, live music, and a playground for kids, so it’s great for families too. You can also take a boat tour to see the surrounding flower fields from the water. Tickets are easy to buy online, and I recommend visiting on a weekday to avoid crowds.
Beautiful place 🌷 Words can’t describe how amazing the flowers looked in person! The ice cream was a bonus! Would love to visit again 🥰
Veramente Bellissimo!!!
Very colouful when we visited. Some of the tulips had finished but there were plenty others and different flowers/plants in bloom. It's a bi place, we were dropped off for three hours as part of a group tour and we didn't manage to see all the inside exhibits. We covered most of the outside ones flower displays but not all the paths through the wooded areas etc. There are plenty of food outlets.
Wow-Wow-Wow what a site so many flowers, laid out in such away that it made just about every vista exciting. Not just tulips but many more varieties of flowers too and sculptures. We believe it has good places to eat and drink too but actually came to see the gardens so didn’t stop for coffee etc used our time to walk round. Amazing place for gardeners to visit, down side, a lot of people !! but still worthwhile.
This was my first visit to the Keukenhof Garden in the Netherlands. There were so many tulips in the garden, but we arrived too late to see the tulip farm because it had already been trimmed owing to the tulips dying. April is the greatest month to visit Keukenhof.
You cannot imagine what it looks like when 7 million bulbs are planted in one place. The Springs Tulips in Holland are not to be missed.
This is an experience everyone should have. These gardens are just incredible. The care and cleanliness are what make it so special. It is open for a limited time each spring so plan your visit accordingly. We caught the Keukenhof bus from the Leiden train station-we were staying in Leiden-and were taken to the entrance. It got crowded as the day went on but was not a problem. The food served was fine….nothing special but very adequate. We did not rent bikes as we had heard they were not well maintained. We had plenty of time to see everything going at 10 in the morning. We left and walked over to Lisse for a late lunch and walked back in time to catch our bus to Leiden. Cannot say enough good things about the love and care to make these gardens so enjoyable…..GO! Wish I could have bought bulbs to take home but could not get them through customs!

Part of our Smithsonian boat tour, the stop at the tulip gardens was a highlight of the three week trip. If you love them, this is a mecca for tulips. The beauty of this place sucks the air from your lungs. We had perfect weather and the early morning sunlgiuht made for spectacular pictures.
Keukenhof is an absolute must for all flower/nature lovers, and just for anyone wanting to find peace and relaxation from a busy life. Keukenhof feels like a dream... on a lovely sunny day, with a slight breeze in your hair... smell of tulips, daffodils and other spring flowers charming you as you discover the paths of this dreamy park... We had spent 3 hours walking around, having lunch and exploring the park. The place is huge! And filled with hundreds of kinds of flowers, predominantly tulips. You'll see tulips in all shapes and forms, unbelievable colors and beauty that can't be seen elsewhere! It's truly a mesmerizing experience!! The park is serene and easy to navigate, with plenty of pathways, restrooms, restaurants and shops. You'll be given a paper map at the entrance to navigate your way. There's also a lake in the middle of the park and it's possible to book a boat tour (in advance) that takes you around the nearby tulip fields (worth only if you come in the mid season as the farmers cut off tulip bulbs later in the season so you'll be riding next to empty fields). Highly recommend visiting - make sure to book your tickets in advance as it gets sold out quickly and the season is only open from March till beginning of May!
The gardens are large and beautiful and well worth a visit. Tons of flowers, beautiful walking paths, lakes, trees and many other exhibits. However, as with any beautiful popular place, it can get ruined by its success. We went in only the modertaely busy season and we went in the morning speciifcally to avoid the crowds. We could feel the density of people increase and it became less pleasant as it filled up. The shear number of people is not the worst part, it is the inevitable bad behaviors of people too self-absorbed to be considerate to others that is the most frustrating. Therefore, go as early as possible and on the day least likely to be busy.
Visited Keukenhof after Viking Rhine river cruise on 5/9. I'dsay we were about a week late in terms of tulip blooming, but still beautiful and incredibly maintained. Canal boat cruise would have been a waste of time since growing fields already cultivated. Tons of people and busses, but park is so large that crowding can be minimized by getting away from the main entrance. Well worth the experience, but I would recommend visiting on your own or with a private guide. We took the bus tour from Amsterdam, which only provides transportation to and from and entrance ticket. Main problem is that this tour is out and back on same bus, with 4 hours to visit the park. 2 hours is plenty, so a lot of just killing time waiting until departure time.
Just in time - as it closed a week or so later .. visited may 1. Garden was fantastic - crowded as anything but wow what a garden … at every turn. Arrived on crowded bus from Europaplein and stood all the way ! Gardens was fast and quick to enter … walked quickly to whisper boat and had actually an hour on the boat but kinda wished it had been the half hour it was supposed to be as most tulips had been harvested and color was going fast and the second half hour saw next to nothing. Gardens … just wow … whisper boat earlier at the end of April would have been great
My wife picked to dates of our trip to see the tulips in peak bloom, and this was the highlight! Probably the most beautiful place we have ever seen, it’s almost overwhelming. Our tickets were for the earliest time at opening, which got us ahead of the peak crowds of the busses. Amazing!
Keukenof is terrific and a must see when in the Amsterdam area. We went in April to see the tulips so we expected the place to be crowed which is was but not terrible. The weather was kind of rainy the day we went but we made the best of it. Tulips everywhere. All kinds, all colors. We had a terrific time.
Magnificently conceived gardens showing off the annual obsession, tulips. We caught the gardens on the last weekend of the season, and there were more than enough tulips in bloom, although some were in decline. The bordering tulip fields were empty. The difficulty of this place is that one wonders if the hordes of tourists are her to actually look at the flowers or just to take their selfies with the flowers. Pedestrian traffic is impossible with all the barely mindful selfie photographers jamming the paths.
If I had known how wonderful my visit would be, I would have booked two days. With all the instagram photos I was ready to be disappointed, but instead my expectations were FAR exceeded. We arrived at approximately 8:15 and had the place to ourselves until about 10. After 10 it was very crowded but you could still enjoy the flowers even with the various photo shoots going on. We stayed until about 5 and could have stayed longer. We took the whisper boat ride which was fun, mostly due to the driver providing additional commentary. We booked the bus ticket from the Amsterdam RAI station (very easy to reach by metro) and hopped on after waiting in a very organized line. The bus back was a little more chaotic and they couldn't tell us when the next bus would be (it was only a 5 minute wait). This seems like it could be easily rectified. Even with the crowds - the bathrooms stayed clean with constant attention from the facilities staff. The lines for lunch were also short and there were a lot of great options (salad, sandwich, hot meals, cake, coffee, beer, wine) and seating available. We did have a good day weather-wise, so sat outside.
This has got to be one the most amazing visits we have done. To see 7 million bulbs all absolutely perfect with no bugs affecting the plants is a sight to behold. The park is only open for 8 weeks each year and it attract nearing one million visitors per season. This has been on our bucket list for many years and we finally made it - stunning. Although there were lots of visitors, you didn't really feel too crowded. An amazing visit and is highly recommended
We went to Keukenhof during a two day trip to Amsterdam and it was definitely worth the visit. It’s huge and definitely worth the entry price. There are two huge car parks at either end of the attraction and the smell of pollen hits you as you get out of the car. It was quite busy considering we went midweek but as it’s only open for a few weeks, this wasn’t surprising. The tulips are absolutely stunning and even the kids appreciated the hard work that has gone into growing them all. The shop was a bit pricey but we managed to bring some tulip bulbs home for family members. It’s definitely worth a trip, especially if you’re in the area.
The canal cruise was perfect, the captin come guide gave us headphones to listen in our own language. The riverboat was clean and tidy, easy to walk on and off, it was a nice day and we got some beautiful pictures!! A great end to a fantastic tourist holiday!!
We did the early evening cruise to see the lights of the city. Easy to get tickets by turning up and allocated the next cruise. There is an audio link that you can use, but we decided to just sit outside and watch the views. An hour cruise which was interesting and pretty.
We had an hour cruise around the canals in Amsterdam and learnt a lot whilst doing it. We really enjoyed every second. My five year old didn’t want to get off. The captain was also very knowledgeable.
This is a must do on your list of things to do while visiting Amsterdam. It takes you through areas that you may not be able to walk to. The captain points out things of interest and tells the story behind it.
Crociera molto carina con guida in tutte le lingue. Partenza vicino ala stazione centrale. Durata circa un ora. Visita dei canali principali di Amsterdam. Da provare
We had a really lovely time on the one-hour canal cruise. Our captain was very lovely and cracked a good few jokes throughout the tour. The GPS guided tour via the headphones was a fab idea and there were so many language options available which was a really pleasant surprise. We learned so much about the history of the city and the tour even helped us to find places to visit again in further detail after the tour. The price was extremely reasonable considering the excellent experience we got, and our boat even left a little early which was nice. All in all, we would definitely recommend it!
We really enjoyed it. We show I I amsterdam cards at the ticket office ans were on a boat and on our way within 10 minutes. Our captain (Tony I believe was his name) was lovely ,cheerful and very knowledge of the area, he also had 2 traniees with him and they were also lovely. The facilties were clean. If I hadn't have had the I amsterdam card I would have still paid what the price was (which I think is reasonable).
1st time in Amsterdam and loved it Booked on the Lovers Canal cruise early in the morning to get a feel for the city and to get our bearings The tour showed the highlights of the city and the comentry was good
sitting backward is really annoying... Except that I think it is very nice and the captain was a nice guy, he was really funny, making jokes.
Booked through Get Your Guide literally 20 mins before boarding. They let us join a boat that was boarding as soon as we got there, which was great, no standing around as they weren’t so busy. We took a daytime trip and glad we did. Maybe evening cruises would be better in warmer months with open boats. The boat was modern, clean and warm and no condensation at all during any part of our cruise. The headphones were included and the audio commentary was interesting. The captain also added bits and pieces of extra info which was appreciated. It was a great introduction to the canals of Amsterdam as we decided to do this trip literally an hour after arriving in Amsterdam. It helped us with our bearings and with general historical info about the city. The reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is that we seemed to stay on one canal, no museums seen, no Anne Frank house, nothing like that, which was a shame as lots of tourists probably visit these places afterwards. Maybe the canal boat starting from the museums area take that route? We took the one from the station. There are lots of canal boat companies, but we were more than happy with Lovers as their boats appear a lot more modern than many others we saw. I would definitely recommend the cruise and my teenage daughter said it was one of the nicest things we did when in Amsterdam.
A amazing tour with some great canal boat skills performed and a great host. This tour is very much for couples and being alone I felt a little out of place.
Done the open boat tour during the summer. A great way to see the city and the audio guide gave plenty of information along the way. Extremely relaxing to the point I almost fell asleep half way around. Would definitely do the tour again if I’m back in Amsterdam
Guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Although it rained, I still enjoyed the tour. The only complaint was the audio was difficult to hear at times.
Nice relaxing hour around the canals. Duco (sorry if I have not got the name correct) was informative with history and fun facts. Would recommend.
It was educational, slowed down at the right places. The pilot was polite and explained well- was fun and energetic.
