Amsterdam Light Festival 2022 - 2023

In the dark winter months of December 2022 and January 2023, Amsterdam will be transformed into a beautiful open-air light art museum for the 11th edition of the Amsterdam Light Festival. For this edition, the festival has chosen the theme Imagine Beyond. Through this theme the festival will take you on a journey to the world of imagination.

This year's the festival once again consists of completely new artworks that challenge you to transcend the here and now, imagine tomorrow without limit and dream into the future. Board the semi-open canal boat and let your imagination run wild. Talk to lights, sail under virtual bridges and watch the water flow upwards.

The best Semi-Open Boat tour of the Amsterdam Light Festival

The best way to enjoy the festival is with a Amsterdam Light Festival cruise. This Amsterdam Light Festival Semi-Open Boat tour will give you the best view of the beautiful light sculptures as you cruise through the canals of Amsterdam.

When the stars are out your view will be unobstructed so you can make the most beautiful photos. You will also be provided with blankets, to keep away the winter chill. If the winter weather turns wet, the boat is easily closed with a glass-top or a regular canal boat is used. Either way, with a canal cruise you are certain to have the best seats to enjoy the show.

This cruise departs next to the bicycle parking, across from the main LOVERS quay. From here, you will enjoy a 75 minute cruise along the Amsterdam Light Festival water route, which allows you to see all the art of the festival.

Along the way, the audio guide, in English & Dutch, tells you more about the beautiful light installations you pass by. The coldest and darkest months of the year will be a lot lighter and cosier with Amsterdam Light Festival semi-open boat tickets from Lovers Canal Cruises.
